The Chinook boom head is fully articulated, so regardless of what height the boom is set at, there will be no excess tension on the boom arms or the mast. It also ensures that if the boom head is not level with the clew, the boom will not pull at the leech or foot of the sail.
Chinook Unconditional 12-month Warranty
For all Chinook booms, bases and extensions purchased in the UK during 2010, we are offering an unconditional replacement warranty on any broken or damaged items that occur while windsurfing (for a period of 12 months after purchase). This will even include getting munched in double mast high waves, shore breaks and incidents with rocks or groynes. Damage caused by any activity on dry land will not be covered. No replacements will be issued unless a valid receipt from point of purchase is produced.

I was impressed at the changes to the new Chinook triple clamp carbon boom. In the past I felt that to put stiff carbon tubes on a flexible front end was a waste of money. Most of the control on a rig comes from a strong and stiff connection to the mast. But the fellas at Chinook don?t sit on their butts, and the proof is this excellent product for the money, and made in the USA.

So what is different? If you look at the first picture you will see tabs on the sides of the carbon tubes, securely fastened to the triple clamp.

Some of the benefits are the possibility of disassembling the booms for travel or in the case you break one side, you can purchase one single tube and install your self with minimum fuss.

The rear end is continuous carbon and has a nice all incorporated pulley system that integrates perfectly with adjustable outhaul systems. No need to drill, add pulleys or modify to get it right. Also no sharp carbon edges to chafe working line. All details have been well thought out.

The Clamp has huge leverage, so no problems tensioning the inhaul and the clamp to the mast. Actually, you have to be careful not to over tighten the clamp or you could crush the mast.

The diameter on the regular diameter boom is great, not too small and definitely the right size for comfortable sailing. The adjustment on the back is slick and painless, with a pin positively engaging the respective hole. This prevents torsion on the rear, a nagging problem when using very wide tail ends for racing. The net effect is a much more responsive rig. I like this boom for sails up to 9.5

Finally clamping the boom uses the same motion as shown on other  booms front review, and again, on this clamp, there is enough line to easily loop it through the catch hook (yellow arrow) without having to loosen the inhaul each time you rig and de-rig (sequence below).

Unique narrow bend curve of Chinook's wave arms is preferred by many wave sailors - it encourages a more manoeuvrable, upright and less inhibited stance
